The District-owned straw mulcher is perfect for use in everything from grassed waterway construction to new lawn seeding. It is a tailgate mulcher and will fit in the back of a pickup truck. The straw mulcher can be rented from Jed's Rentals call (740) 363-5019.

The Truax drill is an 8 row, 8" spacing no-till seeder best used for planting warm and cool season grasses and small areas of grain crops. This drill was purchased and donated to the District by the Delaware County Chapter of Pheasants Forever. A tractor with a minimum of 40 horsepower is necessary to pull this drill. This drill is rented through the District office at a cost of $10 per acre for cool-season grasses and $5 per acre for warm-season grasses. All renters must sign a rental contract and provide proof of insurance prior to taking possession of the drill. Contact Larry Starling for more information.

The JD-1560 is a 24-row no-till planter. While it's heaviest use is for planting soybeans, this drill can be used for sowing wheat as well. A tractor with at least 140 horsepower and dual rear wheels are recommended for using the drill. This drill is rented through the District office at a cost of $9 per acre.
