The Delaware SWCD, founded in 1944 is one of 88 conservation districts in Ohio and one of nearly 3000 nationwide. We are led by five dedicated local volunteer residents who are elected to a three-year term as Board Supervisors. Staffed with federal and state/county professionals, we assist Delaware County residents, landowners, and communities with their natural resources conservation needs. |

The Delaware County Flood Risk Information Meeting was held May 6, 2008 at the Hayes Building. To view scans of all the handouts at that meeting click here. Below is a summary of the information presented at that meeting. FEMA is in the midst of a "Map Modernization" process nationwide. They are updating all of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) based on best, currently available data. In Delaware this means they used the 2006 2' contour data that the County Auditor's office had created. Preliminary data is now available. |

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Delaware SWCD office. Meetings begin at 7:00 P.M. November through March, and at 8:00 P.M. April through October.
